For naturally gravel packed water bore designs, AGE offers M-Packers as a superior alternative to the old K-rubber method to provide a permanent annulus seal between the telescoped screen riser and bore casing. While K-rubbers are at best glued and secured with Band-It straps, M-Packers are vulcanised directly to the riser pipe to ensure a robust bonding interface
The installation of M-Packer telescoped screen designs has seen many methods being used; j-latch installation, grab packers and left handed running tools, however each method to date have significant drawbacks (download Latching M-Packer Advantages for an in-depth comparison).
AGE highlighted the need for improvement to install telescoped screened bores and designed/manufactured the AGE Latching Screen Seal M-Packers.
The latching system tool is run on drill rods and incorporates latching lugs that sit inside a recepticle within the M-Packer riser. Once at desired setting depth the drill string is pressurised to disengage from the screen riser.
Latching M-Packer Tool Features:
AGE M-Packers are available in a large range of sizes and materials, with a rubber sealing diameter machined specifically to order.
All water bore equipment is manufactured from stainless steel materials and potable water grade rubber compounds compliant to AS/NZS:4020.
